After growing up on the North Shore of Long Island and then raising her family on the Upper East Side of bustling New York City, Karen returned to her roots to enjoy life in Long Beach. She quickly discovered the many amazing things to love about her new hometown, and the beachside life has completely won her over. Building community is important to Karen, who, while raising her son in NYC, immersed herself in service as an active member of Temple Israel and a member and president of the PTA at each school her son attended, including PS183, East Side Middle School, and NYC Lab School. In addition, she undertook the demanding task of co-chairing numerous auction committees over the years to successfully raise much needed funds for the New York City Public Schools.
